I was dubbed "The Headache Slayer" after one of my clients came in with so much head pain she could hardly walk. After one hour, we deactivated trigger points, got blood flow back in chronically tight tissues and appeased the nervous system. She came out of session and said, "You killed it, you are the headache slayer!" ...it stuck.
I lived in NC most of my life. In 1986, I graduated from Warren Wilson College with a BA Degree in Fine Arts. I use to borrow friends' biology and anatomy books to help me with my life drawings when I couldn't get models. I taught fitness classes for my community service project which helped in getting to know the human form even more. It seemed working with the body was definitely in my future.
After time, work & life experiences, I completed the 650-hour Massage Therapy Program from The Body Therapy Institute (http://bti.edu/), passed the National Certification for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork and then licensed to practice in NC in 2004. Since then I have completed over 500 additional hours of continuing education and worked in both a group and private practice as well as contracted positions with chiropractors.
In Fall of 2015 my life path brought my family to Hawaii where I am currently practicing and continuing to learn.
My goal is to assist my clients on their quest for wellness. If you are looking for ways to make your quality of life just a little better, then I am the massage therapist that will empower you to do so. Schedule your session today.
Nobody deserves to be in pain.
When I'm not at the massage table, I enjoy working with plants, all arts, crafty DIY things, hooping, fire performance arts, Sailing, SCUBA diving, kayaking, motorcycling, cooking, volunteering with the AMTA, traveling and simply enjoying life! At some point, I hope to learn how to surf!
"I can't thank you enough. It is such a relief to not have pain running from my shoulder through my neck every time I move!! I am appreciative of how much you did for me today. Thank you."
